Zombies, Pumpkin Patches and Haunted Houses? It’s just another October in Salem Oregon!
October is one of our favorite months. The weather is crisp and beautiful and it seems as though everyone is getting into the Halloween spirit! Just take a look at some of our favorite events happening this month:
Setniker Farms Pumpkin Patch- Oct 1st-31st
Setniker Farms features a 6 acre pumpkin patch where you are sure to find the right pumpkin whether it is 1 or 100+ pounds. While you are there, get lost in the Haunted Corn Maze, take a tour of the farm and get spooked on a Haunted Hay Ride. This family friendly farm has something for everyone, and one of the best selections of pumpkins around! Visit them at www.setnikerfarms.com/pumpkinpatch for directions and details.
The Nightmare Factory
Now in it’s 25th year, The Nightmare Factory is the annual fundraiser produced by the Oregon School for the Deaf. A bit of trivia, you may remember seeing them on ABC’s Extreme Home Makeover a couple of years ago. Beware, this haunted house is sure to scare even the bravest among us. Visit them at www.nightmarefactorysalem.com for directions, ticket information and times.
The 13 Nights of Halloween
This event, organized by the Culture Shock Community Project, is a 13 day (and night) festival centered on…what else…Halloween! From pumpkin carving to Thriller dancing in our own Salem Conference Center courtyard, Rocky Horror Picture Show, ghost stories to zombie mobs, there is something for everyone! To see the complete list of activities, visit them at www.cultureshockproject.org/13nights
So if Halloween is your thing, this is the place to be in October! Just wait until you see what we have in store for the holidays!
