Magical Lights at a Historic Salem Oregon Treasure This Dec. 19 – 23

One of Salem’s greatest landmarks is the nearby Willamette Heritage Center at The Mill, a five-acre living museum of Oregon state’s pioneer beginnings. Every December, the Heritage Center spreads the holiday spirit with its Magic at The Mill festival. The historic grounds are brilliantly lit with thousands of twinkling lights while fiddlers, singers, choirs, bands and choruses fill the night with music.  This is a must-see for guests of the Grand Hotel in Salem every holiday season.

There’s plenty of activities for the kids with Santa’s miniature train, hungry reindeer to feed, a letter-writing workshop for overseas Marines, and, of course, Santa Claus himself. Everyone can enjoy the great food, shopping and several stages of live entertainment.

Magic at the Mill runs nightly from Wed. Dec. 19 through Sun. Dec. 23, from 5:30 pm to 8 pm. Find it at the Willamette Heritage Center at The Mill, 1313 Mill St. SE, Salem Oregon.

Admission is $5 for adults, $3 for youth (4-12), and free for age 3 and under. Buy tickets in advance through Eventbrite or bring a can of food for the Marion Polk Food Share to receive $1 off admission.
