Our culture has always enjoyed a fascination with powerful machines like automobiles, trucks, tractors, locomotive engines, etc. If you are among them, we have place for you: Antique Powerland in Brooks, Oregon. Don’t let the name fool you, this is no antique store.
Antique Powerland is a one of a kind collection of museums and heritage site for power equipment, such as farm machinery, trucks (lorries), trains, construction equipment, and the engines which power them. Visitors of all ages will experience an excellent history lesson and leave with new perspective about the history and operation of machines and the role they played in modern technology and the quality of life. The site also organizes major events throughout the summer where the public can observe the operation and use of historic machines and vehicles.
The Great Oregon Steam-Up, happening July 26-27, 2014 and August 2-3, 2014, is held every summer when many of the exhibits are fired up and shown running. Visitors also enjoy a parade of vintage vehicles, power equipment, sawmill and numerous other exhibits featuring the historic equipment in it’s operating state. Trust us, it’s VERY cool and we think the whole family will love it!
Antique Powerland a local treasure and a favorite among the Grand Hotel in Salem staff. It was voted the “Best Family Attraction” in the Statesman Journal’s Best of the Mid-Valley awards earlier this year. They also received the Bronze award in the “Best Place to take out-of-town guests” category and the Great Oregon Steam-Up was also recognized in the “Best Attraction Event” category.
