Kick Off Earth Day Celebrations at Earth 411!

Ready to kick off Earth Day? We sure are! This year, Salem is getting the celebration started early on Saturday, April 11, 2015!

Bring the whole family down to Riverfront Park on April 11th for Earth 411, a zero waste, educational event hosted by Straub Environmental Center and the City of Salem .

A variety of vendors and organizations will be on hand to provide information and solutions on how to become active stewards of the environment. You won’t want to miss the awesome entertainment lined up by the Jenkstars and Solar Saucer, a mobile solar powered DJ booth and art installation built out of recycled materials.

There will also be boat rides, an earth themed costume contest, as well as a costume parade around the park for all to take part in. Attendees will also have a chance to give back at the American Red Cross blood drive.

The cost of admission is $3 per person or 3 cans of food for Marion Polk Food Share.

  1. Love to see all the activities happening in Salem on April 11. Start at Earth 411 at Riverfront Park, make your way to Upcycle Oregon (recycled art and fashion show) at the Oregon State Capitol, venture across to the Jane Austen Fair followed by Local Roots Music Festival at Willamette Heritage Center. And don’t forget, it’s also the same weekend at Cherry City Comic Con and the Game-A-Thon at Mr. Video. Who says there is nothing to do in Salem?!
